Q. Do you offer a complementary class so I can try out the gym?

A. YES! Your first CARDIO BOXING class is free.

Q. How do I sign up for a class?

A. Head over to our scheduling page and scroll to the bottom. You’ll see the sign up system there.

Q. Can I come to a class if I’m not signed up?

A. No. We require advanced registration for every class. We don’t take any walk ins.

Q. Do I have to start with the CARDIO BOXING class?

A. Yes. We require everyone start with a CARDIO BOXING class.

Q. Can I sign up for a class that says “Instructor permission required?”

A. No. If you have not spoken to an instructor about attending one of these classes, you will need to do that first.

Q. I am trying to sign up for a class but there is no sign up button.

A. This means that the class you have selected is already full. We have limited space in our classes and they fill up quick! You can always check back to see if a spot has opened up due to cancellation, or select a different class.

Q. I have never boxed before…do I need experience to come take a class?

A. No experience is needed! We will walk you through the process, from wrapping your hands to throwing your first punch.

Q. What is the age limit for classes?

A. All classes are age 14 and above. If you have a child younger than 14 years old who would like to learn, we offer private lessons for ages 8 and up.

Q. How early do I need to show up for my first class?

A. You will need to show up at least 15 minutes before your first class. This will give us time to help you get your hands wrapped and show you the ropes. If you show up later than 15 minutes in advance, we may not be able to get you started that day.

Q. Do I need to bring my own gloves?

A. If you have your own gloves and hand wraps you can bring them along. If not, don’t worry, we have some you can borrow for the first class. However, we don’t loan out equipment for more than one class.

Q. If I want to purchase equipment, do you sell it at the gym?

A. Yes. We sell boxing gloves and hand wraps at the gym.

Q. What else should I bring to class?

A. You can bring a water bottle if you want, comfortable workout clothes and CLEAN athletic shoes.

Q. I wore my athletic shoes to work in my garden/ go hiking/ slog through the mud/ etc. Can I wear them to class?

A. Absolutely NO. You must have CLEAN athletic shoes to wear in the gym. We recommend clients have a dedicated pair of workout shoes that they do not wear outside. If you come in with muddy shoes, you will be turned away.

Q. I forgot my workout shoes/ clothes. Can I work out in my hiking boots/ street shoes/ jeans/ sweater etc?

A. No. You MUST wear appropriate workout clothes and shoes to the gym to participate in classes. Shirts and shoes are also required at all times (as well as pants but we hope that would go without saying).

Q. What if I sign up for a class and I can’t make it?

A. You can cancel your reservation through the class confirmation email you got. Please cancel at least two hours in advance so someone else can take your spot. Space is limited.

Q. Do I have to wear a mask in the gym?

A. Currently, masks are no longer be required in the gym. If you are unvaccinated or high risk, you should continue to wear a mask in crowded indoor areas. If you are vaccinated but feel more comfortable continuing to wear your mask, please do so! We will continue to monitor and abide by all local/ state guidelines in regard to Covid safety protocols. Please be aware that this has been, and will continue to be, an ever -changing situation and the rules may change again at some point.

Q. I’m not feeling great but I want to come in and “sweat it out.” What do you think?

A. HELL NO. STAY HOME IF YOU DON’T FEEL WELL.

Q. I bought a 5 class punch card but I haven’t used my 5 classes in the allotted 60 day time period. Can I just carry them over and use them later? I also signed up for a class but no showed without cancelling… that doesn’t count as one of my 5 classes right?

A. If you purchased a punch card to attend classes, they are good for 60 days from the date of purchase. If you don’t use them in 60 days, any remaining classes will be lost. If you no show without cancelling, it will be counted as one of your 5 classes. We do not offer a pay by class option. We are not able to extend punch cards due to illness, injury, scheduling conflicts, vacation plans, etc.

Q. Do you offer private lessons?

A. Yes, we offer private lessons for ages 8 and up. If you are interested in pricing and scheduling for private lessons, please send us an email for more information.

Q. Do I have to sign a contract if I want to join the gym?

A. No. We don’t believe in contracts. Our membership is month to month.

Q. Do you have a competition team? Can I join?

A. We have an amateur boxing competition team as well as training professional boxers. The team training sessions are by INVITATION ONLY and require that everyone go through the Team Try Out process. We hold try outs 3 times a year and you must meet all other requirements before trying out for the team. Additional requirements include a minimum of 3 months consistent attendance of the footwork and skills classes. The boxing team is reserved for competitive boxers only.

Q. Where is the gym located?

A. We are on the corner of NE Broadway and NE 7Th Ave. The gym is located on the second floor, above the futon store. The entry door to the building is on Broadway between Cotton Cloud Futons and the 715 Inn. Go in the gray door and up the stairs. We are the first door on the left.
